…how can skating help pay for college?

…what are the judges really thinking?

I will try to crush many of the myths out there in the world of skating and answer any question you might have.  Email me, “So you wanna know,” at:  Dan@DanHollander.com

How to map out a good show/competition program?

This is a tough skill for whatever reason. We see too many programs that have all the spins in the same place, or both lutz jumps in the exact same spot. I can not give away all my secrets or those that have choreographed for me, but here are a few things to consider:

  • Space out all the elements so they are not all in the same place.)
  • Change your direction so your patterns alternate from clockwise to counterclockwise, and forward to backward.
  • Edit your music to lend itself to a good layout. (click Music editing for more information)
  • Where is your audience sitting that you need to perform to? Judges are in one spot, some shows are one, two, three, or four sides. You will have a good response as long as you perform to your audience!
